Data management for camera trapping surveys

Camera traps are being used more and more often these days and are one of the most reliable ways to study wildlife. However, these cameras capture a lot of images, some wanted and some unwanted. Managing these huge datasets is something every wildlife biologists should know about.

Our short three days workshop will allow researchers to do just that. It covers

  1. Introduction to camera trapping
  2. Hierarchical tagging of image
  3. Using CamtrapR package to manage camera trap images
  4. Formatting datasets for occupancy, capture-recapture and activity analysis
